Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe Stylus 1010 is a perfect camera for users looking for a compact digital camera with advanced features. An attractive package of features including a 7x Optical Zoom and Digital Image Stabilization helps users capture clear, crisp memories. 10.1MP gives you superior image quality that you can use to make large prints, or even crop, without losing detail. The Stylus 1010 has a 7x optical zoom that gets twice the magnification when compared to a 3x zoom with this ultra-compact, precision-crafted Olympus lens. With the Dual Image Stabilization you get 2-in-1 anti-blur solutions that keeps your shot steady by compensating for camera shake to capture crisp, clear images in any situation. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Big Produxt in a small package
I picked this camera out for my birthday. It is wonderful! The pictures are clear and sharp,no matter how much they are enlarged. The 7x zoom allowed me to take great videos from 20 rows up at a recent sporting event. I wish the sound was a little louder, but when you download to a computer, it is easily adjusted. The scene selector is fantastic, just select what you want to photograph, push OK, and click! I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants a small compact camera loaded with ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Love the camera but miss the date stamp
I chose this camera based on its small size, high megapixel, and high zoom capabilities but will be returning it due to the missing and very important date stamp. I am using the camera to take pictures of my growing child, and need to be able to look back and know the precise date the picture was taken. Otherwise, I LOVE this camera, it takes nice, clear pictures, is easy to use (once I read the manual cover to cover), was reasonably priced, is cute, fits nicely in my purse for those spontaneous hilarious ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - More MP is not always better
I have used Olympus cameras for about 15 years and have always been happy with them. Unfortunately, I have used this camera for six months and am getting a new one. There are several good things about this camera, but there is one huge flaw: poor image quality. I have been doing some research and discovered that the megapixels are the culprit. While the camera has 10MP, the image sensor was not made to accommodate 10MP's worth of detail. Because the image sensor is small, it produces grainy photos. You will ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A useful small camera
I use an FX format SLR and film cameras for more formal photography, so the Stylus 1010 was purchased for general family snapshot use. As an upgrade to older model Oylympus S350 and Canon S400 models, the S1010 represents a substantial improvement. The lens quality and focal length range is much more useful, pulling in far subjects with longer telephoto function and covering wider landscape and rooms with wide angle coverage. Flash output is higher, so there is much less light fall off when taking indoor shots. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great little camera!
This was an upgrade for me from another Olympus product. It is a wonderful little camera. Pictures are clear and crisp and the zoom is great. The only thing I can think to mention that may bother some people is that when you are filming videos, you can't toggle the zoom while the camera is running. You need to set the zoom where you want it and then start filming. I bought the 1010 kit and the microSDHC card allows you to film 30 minutes of video at a time (with lots of room left over on the card). An empty microSDHC ... Read More
