Rating: - No help from Belkin
I have two Western Digital Drives, one 1 TB La Cie Big Disk and a lighscribe La Cie DVD burner. This Belkin hub does not support any of these on an Intel iMAC with Mac OS X 10.5.5. If you go to the Belkin web site you will not find a picture or documentation for a F5U526-APL. You will be told your search does not match any Belkin products. What you will find is documentation for FireWire 6-Port Hub #F5U526-WHT. That is a "different" product from the F2U526-APL. In that documentation there is no information ... Read More
Rating: - Works great-as expected!
This sped my video editing while allowing proper connection to an external drive. I'm ready for anything video now!
Rating: - Does the job, but not many items are firewire anymore
I use it for an external hard drive and a web cam, but some hard drives will insist on being hooked directly to the computer.
Rating: - Belkin FireWire 6-port Hub
The Belkin Hub was just what I needed. My MacBook Pro just didn't have enough fire wire ports. The Belkin was VERY easy to set up and I have had NO problems with it.
Rating: - underpowered
While it basically functions as it should, the hub seems to be slightly underpowered. I have just three devices plugged into it (two self-powered hard drives, and a Digi Mbox2Pro bus-powered audio interface), and it doesn't always recognize both drives. Also, sometime when I eject & turn off one of the drives, the audio interface disappears as well. As long as I don't change anything (i.e. turn off any drives), it works well.
