Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Cheap speakers
I needed extra speakers immediately for a last minute project and had to buy these at Radio Shack because they were the closest store that was open. If I had had the time to shop around I would have purchased something much better.

The sound quality is so-so and about what you expect for low-end computer speakers. They need an isolation filter and better shielding. The light in one speaker started flickering 3 weeks after purchase and went out completely 2 months later. The lights serve ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great for the price, or twice as much
I bought a pair of these at Micro Center. I had a 20 year old Sony TV with a great picture, and a worn out speaker. Any shop repair would have cost over $100. Micro Center had a lot of computer speakers set up on a display wall, so you could switch between them to compare them (I am a recovering audiophile, on step 6).

These speakers had the best sonic balance of any of the speakers under $100. You need to adjust the bass carefully, or you will get too much, which is an interesting problem ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - I gave them a try but i'll still with my old ones
Staples had these for $15 so I thought I would try them out see if they were any better than my PC's OEM Speakers. My OEM speakers didn't have a woofer so i was excited to see the sound difference. Like other reviews have said all the bass comes from the woofer and all the treble from the fronts... i mean ALL though. The mids and highs sound terrible, not even a hint of lows from the two speakers so these only sound good if you are sitting across the room, but then they wouldn't be PC speakers.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great speakers for the price, but not for the extremely discerning
They sound really good and they look techy too. The sound is a bit "tinnier" than I would have liked, but the bass from the subwoofer is great. It comes with a Y-adapter for use with left/right audio cables (like on a Playstation or something). There's a power button, a volume wheel, a bass wheel, and a headphone jack on the right speaker. The bass is automatically reduced along with the volume. The subwoofer plugs into the outlet, the right speaker plugs into the subwoofer and audio jack, and has a permanent ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Check Out Eddy Bone's "Um...don't believe all the bad reviews" Review...
... because that says it all. I've been in professional audio work for the past 20 years so I think I have a decent perspective on the matter. That review pretty much sums it up. Cheap? Yes Good for the price, Yes, ESPECIALLY with some EQ tweaking (of which any version MS Media higher than 8.0 has). So, uh... yeah! :)
