Rating: - Exactly what we needed.
We bought this splitter to connect our laptop to our sound system, so we could view movies, slide shows, etc on our television. It works like a charm, and we are able to disconnect it easily and store it out of the way until the next use. Depending on your setup, you may need a longer cord. Our laptop sits next to the entertainment system furniture, and it barely reaches. Better to be safe than sorry.

I purchased this splitter because I have tv shows on my laptop that I would rather watch on my 42'' Plasma HDTV, and unfortunately S-video cables don't transmit sound as well as video. So I bought this, plugged it into the headphone jack on my laptop and into the Audio inputs on my tv, and low and behold it worked like a charm! Finally I don't have to watch on a big screen while listening to the speakers on my laptop...
