This printer is quiet, quick and high quality. The set up is reasonable but not foolproof. It works well in a wireless environment shared between several printers.

I ordered the MX850 to replace my Pixima 780 which I loved because I needed the printer to be on the network. I read several reviews of people who had problems. A few things to note:
1. You will need a USB cable (that isn't included) to setup the printer on the network the first time.
2. Make sure you install the software PRIOR to connecting the cable.

I think the Canon Pixma MX850 is great. There's a bit of a learning curve to figure out some of the features and somethings you may have to refer to the manual in order to use them until you familiarize yourself with the printer. I made sure I used all of the functions of this printer and everything works well. I'm really impressed with the speed in which all the functions are carried out and the print and scan quality. The printer worked well. It prints well and is very quiet. The scanner is not as good as some I have used before (HP). The set up took a while and when I was done I found the updates and had to do it again. So check for updates first. Needing a USB cable (not provided) for network setup seems inconvenient. I am a fairly heavy user and have been very happy with this product. I print about 1500-2000 pages a month including fax. I have had the printer for about a month and have not had any problems. Set up was very simple. Print quality and speed are both great. It goes through ink pretty quickly - I just put in my 3rd black ink cartridge - but I don't think it's any worse than most ink jet printers, and definitely better than some.
