I have this monitor for only two weeks now. I can't comment on longevity.
I am using it to extend the desktop of my laptop under Windows XP. I don't think it is the most up-to-date monitor in terms of response time, digital input and so on, but neither is my laptop. For my purposes it is great, and the price justified getting it despite of my laptop being oldish.
