I was hesitant to order these because previous reviews said that the vendor kept shipping the wrong product. After I noticed that the product is now shipped by Amazon rather than the vendor, I decided to take a chance.

I bought a couple of these to use with the Flip MinoHD video recorder. Sometime you just don't have the ability to get the usb connection on the Flip as close to the computer's usb port as you would like. This give you that little extra reach when you have other items plugging into adjacent usb ports and can't fit the Flip in there.

Exactly as advertised and just what I needed. The cables were fine. Unfortunately, shipping cost 3 X the cost of the items, $5.94 shipping for $2.00 worth of cables, for what probably cost $2.50, tops, for postage and jiffy bag.

After reading several recent negative reviews who claim to have not received the product advertised I was hesitant to order this. After checking StarTech's web site and confirming that they did make the product advertised, I went ahead and ordered 3 and received the product advertised. It is 6 inches and it has USB type A male on one end and USB type A female on the other end, which is what you want most of the time for an extension cable. Rating: - Perfect for Macbook Air
This is perfect for connecting bulky USB devices to the Macbook Air. We use it with an SD card reader that is a little too large for the cramped USB connector and the short length makes it convenient to carry around.
This cable is only useful for extending the reach of a USB port and is functionally the same as USB extension cables included with USB memory sticks.
