Rating: - Great fan
Picked this up for a new PC build running a quad core cpu with socket lg775 and matx asus board. Relatively easy to install if your building from scratch, because you will need to take out your motherboard to attach the brackets. Comes with a dab of thermal paste but would recommend picking up some "Articsilver 5 or 7" as a replacement. Also, this suckers large so make sure this fits into the motherboard before purchasing.

I bought this some time ago. Actually Feb. 08. Has been running great ever since I installed it. I have an INTEL Pentium 4 2.8 gig that i am using. I had problems getting to hot with the stock cooler that it came with. This thing has pulled around 10C off my temps. No more overheating.
The specs tell you about the size of it. But until you see it. Its really big. But I had no problems installing it. Just take your time. Its quiet as a church mouse.

Sorry for my english. spanish review at the end.
Nice looking. Ideal for mooding, the blue leds look great in the night, there's almost no noise. High performance, no problems with the processor's overclock.
You have got to make sure you have enought space in your chassis to mount this monster. It's really big. Installation in a K8 is very simple, for Intel processor is a piece of cake, but if you have an AM2 you have got to have 4 arms or a friends that helps, installation for ... Read More
Rating: - Thermaltake Blue Orb II
After my new installation of Socket 775 motherboard and Pentium D processor, which by the way came with the Intel cooling fan, I was unable to get the cooling of the processor down to an acceptable operating temperature. After hours of research I found numerous articles pointing at the Intel cooling fan as the culprit. I purchased and installed the Blue Orb II into my unit and it immediately did the job and solved my heating problem. The fan was easy to install with its mounting hardware, however ... Read More
Rating: - This thing is awesome.!!! Big and Brutal, Quiet Too
This is definitely a large unit. Its too bad some folks had problems here, but this fan is one of the best I've EVER used. I have or had a Zalman 9700, Thermalright XP90, Arctic Cooler A64, several other fans from Spire, Cooler Master, and others, plus plenty of OEM HSFs. I've also used water cooling on both processors and video cards.
The Blue Orb II is definitely up there with the Zalman 9700 as far as efficiency and noise levels. They are both somewhat heavy, and fairly large. ... Read More
