I bought this item when the price was $38 (including shipping). When I examine the bag, it is very difficult to believe it is made of leather (as opposed to vinyl plastic). It does not have a characteristic leather smell -- there is not smell or just a very faint plastic smell. There are no marks or imperfections like sometimes found in natural leather.
